Global Arts: Cultural Literacy & Heritage

Symphony Space's Global Arts: Cultural Literacy & Heritage is a year-round multidisciplinary program that uses workshops, lecture-demonstrations, and interactive performances to reveal a deeper and richer understanding of the world around us.

Using traditional and contemporary art forms from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Native American culture, and Early American culture, Global Arts offers immediate contact with the arts and artists in classrooms, in after-school programs, at school assemblies, at libraries or community centers, on guided tours at museums, at interactive performances at Symphony Space, or in our semester-long curriculum and Common Core-aligned multidisciplinary program, the Curriculum Arts Project (CAP.) All Write!

All Write! introduces adult literacy students to the beauty and the power of the written word at a special Selected Shorts performance at Peter Norton Symphony Space. The students are then invited to submit their own work, a selection of which is read by the same actors at a second performance.
